Theory : The Tree of the World

So we see this huge shadow in the background in chapter 866. I have been thinking about it for a while. I think I seem to have figured it out.

So we seen a shadow in chapter 865 as well at the end of the chapter when we got a glimpse of Elbaf. What do you guys think about this - the shadow we see at the end of chapter 865 and the one we see in chapter 866 - I think they are two different shadows!

Trees in chapter 865 and chapter 866 respectively

Just look at how tall the tree is. Its so huge and it also seems like its shooting all the way up to the sky as well. There is a tree similar to this. We have already seen it in the past! I think it could be Giant Jack from Skypiea.

The beanstalk plant we seen in Skypiea. Giant Jack! If we compare this to the story of Jack and the Beanstalk we can clearly see connections. This somehow makes me beleive that Giant Jack originated in Elbaf and spiraled up to Skypiea! This thing is absolutely giant and we cannot even see the top of it in chapter 866! I believe the tree we see in chapter 865 is a completely different one!

Ganfall, the previous God of Skypiea also mentions that there is another way to reach the Sky Islands aside from the knock up stream. He say's there's an easier and more common way to get to the sky islands. It makes sense climbing a giant structure such as this one to get to the sky islands an easier method.

I feel this is how Pirates or the other people in the past have been getting to the sky islands. Also explaining how Kaido got to the sky islands. Even if it isn't Giant Jack we can safely assume it is a huge structure that can easily reach a Sky Island. But still, the whole connection with Jack and the Beanstalk makes it really close to believe that it could be Giant Jack.

The huge tree we see on Elbaf if is larger in diameter (The one we see in chapter 865) compared to the one we see in chapter 866. We can safely assume they are two diferent structures.

It wouldn't make sense for Oda to put two separate trees on the island if there was no significance. One is easily the Giant Jack from th connections we have drawn so far. The second tree lines up perfectly with Norse Mythology.

As you may or may not know Oda, growing up, liked Vikings and that was his inspiration for the Giants we see in One Piece. The Vikings are part of the Norse Mythology. In the Norse Mythology there is a huge tree called the Yggdrasil a.k.a The Tree of Life! I wouldn't be surprised if Oda made a similar tree in Elbaf seeing as to the inspiration drawn from Norse mythology and Vikings already. Also the desert Semla reavealed in chapter 866 is of Scandanavian origin also being part of the Norse or Viking origin.

Yggdrasil was also know as the tree that connect the various realms in the Norse Mythology also what can be referred to as The World Tree.

As you can see it connects the Midgard to the Asgard. Midgard being the land where the mortals lived and Asgard being the Garden of the Gods. There is a clear connection of the Sky Islands and the World below in one piece from this very reference. So this tree extends to the whole world and tha's how speculation can be drawn to show that the tree in the shadow we see in chapter 865 is infact somehow Yggdrasil if Oda decides to name it that. It supports structures that connects the World together and that's how people can get to and fro the Sky Islands.

Just like the other great trees in One Piece, this could be yet another one which Oda has taken inspiration for from the tree in Eden. The tree of Knowledge, Adam, Eve and now the Tree of Life Yggdrasil.

So a summary of what we have theorized so far:
1. The shadows we see in these chapters are the tree of life
2. The larger tree is The World Tree and draws inspirations from the different names the tree of knowledge is given.
3. The smaller tree could be Giant Jack and could also be a part of The World Tree.

So let me know what you guys think about this in the comments section. I would love some feedback - you can let me know what I can change and what other theories you guys want me to be talking about. Thank you for reading and I'll see you soon with something new.
