Theory : Big Mom as a future Ally to the Straw Hat Pirates

You may be wondering - This guys is gone nuts. Especially after reading this week's chapter.

Big Mom is seen nuking out her punches at Bege's Big Father form. He took a huge beating and now they have planned to escape in Bege's regular form with Caesar's help. We also see the Vinsmoke's helping out by trying to distract Big Mom and her crew.

The twist was when Reiju couldn't take the heat from Big Mom's attack, Luffy and Sanji pop out of Bege to defend her. They had clearly planned to escape but leaving the Vinsmoke's behind wasn't an option for Luffy and Sanji. They wanted to save them.

But with the way things are going down it doesn't seem that Big Mom can be redeemed. But with Oda being the mangaka that he is I wouldn't be surprised if he did something that no one saw coming.

From this chapter we also see that Big Mom wasn't the one who was threatening Sanji for the marriage by planning to kill Zeff. It was the Vinsmokes. But it still isn't clear to me as it had been mentioned that anyone who fails to attend Big Mom's tea party will see the head of loved one delivered in a box.

We all know that even if the Straw hats manage to escape WCI without resolving their issues with Big Mom, the Big Mom Pirates will be chasing down the Straw Hats all the way to Wano. And Wana is no joke. Having to face two Yonko together would be nearly impossible looking at the Straw Hat's current strength.

So they either have to defeat Big Mom or straight up leave with her in peaceful terms. I think pudding still serves as an important plot device to help Luffy and the others to peacefully resolve matters between the Straw Hats and Big Mom.

These are the probable Scenarios that we can expect in the future :
1) Big Mom and her crew aren't able to take out the Germa, Tank Pirates and Straw Hats. She gets defeated and remembers Mother Caramel and starts crying again. At this very moment Pudding decides to help Big Mom remember her past and remember what exactly happened on the day Mother Caramel disappeared. Big Mom realizes she has become what she did not want to become and it was Streusens fault for everything that went down. She decides to Ally with the Straw Hats and punish Streusens for leading her in the wrong path. Big Mom decides to reinforce the Straw Hat group by sending someone with them like Katakuri, Smoothie or someone else. She will know something about Kaido and prepares to deal with him by appearing later on in the War against Kaido.

2) Luffy and Sanji get badly beat up and have to enter Bege again before he manages to escape with Caesar. Big Mom Pirates will defeat the Vinsmokes and chase after Caesar and Bege who are trying to help Luffy and Sanji get back up. Pudding realises her love for Sanji and decides to act out of love by erasing everyone's memories about the Straw Hats by using a form of her awakening. The Straw Hats escape like nothing happened and Big Mom will not continue the chase.

3) Big Mom goes into a blasting rage and when she does go into a rage she cannot distinguish between for and Ally. So at this moment the Big Mom Pirates will formulate a plan to calm down Big Mom and during this the Straw Hats have their window for escape. Maybe Bobbin will come to put Big Mom to sleep and Pudding takes advantage of the situation and alters Big Mom's memories about the Straw Hats and we may see Big Mom Pirates appearing at the War at Wano and the Straw Hats freaking out but the twist here will be that they have actually come over to help the Straw Hats fight Kaido.

Knowing Oda none of these situations may even come into picture. But Big Mom is far too strong to be defeated and way to risky to leave as an enemy. Let me know what you guys think.

Theory: Yonko Kaido - What he really could be!

Kaido, the strongest creature, the King of the Beasts and pirate Captain of the Beast Pirates!!

What do we know about him thus far?
1. He seems to be having a suicide fetish
2. He is really, really strong
3. His skin is somewhat impenetrable
4. He has a legion of devil fruit eaters
5. He wants to see the world burn
6. He lives in a snowy place or you could say it was a somewhat land of ice
7. He is currently occupying Wano and ruling it alongside it's Shogun

So why is he called the strongest "creature". Isn't he a human? I think not!!

You may remember Oars from thriller bark. He was a huge creature and Moria drops in some incredibly juicy information about Oars' origin in the Thriller Bark arc. Oars was an evil giant who was known back then as the Continent Puller. He died in the land of snow. The existence of Oars Jr. suggests that Oars had a family. Oda also mentions he was indeed a giant but not of Elbaf origins. Oda also confirms he is larger than the Giants of Elbaf - two full grown Giants would still make up for half of Oars' size.

Now here's what we know about Oars Jr. He led his own pirate crew and was subordinate of the White Beard Pirates. Oars Jr. was smaller than Oars. He was about two Giants tall.

Kaido, Oar Jr. and Oars - They have huge horns projecting from their heads. It is confirmed that Oars and Oars Jr. are both larger than Giants. As for Kaido it is very speculative. We see him compare to Kidd, Apoo and Hawkins. Basically, Kaido may be half the size of Oars Jr. as we can assume he is somehow related to the two. This is what I found on a reddit [source]
In the One Piece world, the will of one person is shown to be carried down by someone else if they pass away. Oars was know for his evil and destruction that he caused. Kaido is also portrayed as an incredibly evil Yonko. Not only that but he claims to be bored of this world and wants to start a war on a whim.

Oars was also known to amass islands and rule over them and gather his like-minded evil followers under him. Kaido also seems to be doing somewhat of the same thing with him occupying Wano along with it's Shogun. Wanting to have an evil army of devil fruit users.

Kaido and Oars have so many similarities. As mentioned earlier, the passing of wills is a recurring theme in One Piece. So I wouldn't be surprised if Kaido has inherited the will of Oar's and wants to bring about the end of the world through an all-out war. Also, Oars Jr. wasn't really like his predecessor. This goes to show that Oars' will wasn't inherited by Oars Jr.

Now this part is pure speculation:
Based on the narrator's description of Kaido in chapter 795, we know that Kaido is almost unkillable. Even he cannot kill himself. So it seems as though he is almost unkillable. He is a creature that has never been defeated. In a one on one combat he will come out victorious.
Oars had his evil army which he gathered after collecting islands. Kaido may have been part of this evil army and witnessed Oars' death on the snowy island. The snowy island could be what reminds Kaido about his purpose in this world and that may explain why this island is his favorite. Kaido being the way he is could be part of Oars' evil army because Kaido was almost unkillable and his actions are very parallel to that of Oars' when he was called the Devil. It explains why Kaido is so similar to Oars.

Another speculation about Kaido's immortality could be that a previous owner of the Ope-Ope no mi performed the ageless surgery on him. But I think this idea deserves a theory of it's own.

Please let me know what you think in the comment section below and also let me know what else you would like to see me make theories on.

Note: I'll be pushing out my theories a bit slower for now since I have a bunch of tests coming up. Sorry for the late posts.

Theory : The Tree of the World

So we see this huge shadow in the background in chapter 866. I have been thinking about it for a while. I think I seem to have figured it out.

So we seen a shadow in chapter 865 as well at the end of the chapter when we got a glimpse of Elbaf. What do you guys think about this - the shadow we see at the end of chapter 865 and the one we see in chapter 866 - I think they are two different shadows!

Trees in chapter 865 and chapter 866 respectively

Just look at how tall the tree is. Its so huge and it also seems like its shooting all the way up to the sky as well. There is a tree similar to this. We have already seen it in the past! I think it could be Giant Jack from Skypiea.

The beanstalk plant we seen in Skypiea. Giant Jack! If we compare this to the story of Jack and the Beanstalk we can clearly see connections. This somehow makes me beleive that Giant Jack originated in Elbaf and spiraled up to Skypiea! This thing is absolutely giant and we cannot even see the top of it in chapter 866! I believe the tree we see in chapter 865 is a completely different one!

Ganfall, the previous God of Skypiea also mentions that there is another way to reach the Sky Islands aside from the knock up stream. He say's there's an easier and more common way to get to the sky islands. It makes sense climbing a giant structure such as this one to get to the sky islands an easier method.

I feel this is how Pirates or the other people in the past have been getting to the sky islands. Also explaining how Kaido got to the sky islands. Even if it isn't Giant Jack we can safely assume it is a huge structure that can easily reach a Sky Island. But still, the whole connection with Jack and the Beanstalk makes it really close to believe that it could be Giant Jack.

The huge tree we see on Elbaf if is larger in diameter (The one we see in chapter 865) compared to the one we see in chapter 866. We can safely assume they are two diferent structures.

It wouldn't make sense for Oda to put two separate trees on the island if there was no significance. One is easily the Giant Jack from th connections we have drawn so far. The second tree lines up perfectly with Norse Mythology.

As you may or may not know Oda, growing up, liked Vikings and that was his inspiration for the Giants we see in One Piece. The Vikings are part of the Norse Mythology. In the Norse Mythology there is a huge tree called the Yggdrasil a.k.a The Tree of Life! I wouldn't be surprised if Oda made a similar tree in Elbaf seeing as to the inspiration drawn from Norse mythology and Vikings already. Also the desert Semla reavealed in chapter 866 is of Scandanavian origin also being part of the Norse or Viking origin.

Yggdrasil was also know as the tree that connect the various realms in the Norse Mythology also what can be referred to as The World Tree.

As you can see it connects the Midgard to the Asgard. Midgard being the land where the mortals lived and Asgard being the Garden of the Gods. There is a clear connection of the Sky Islands and the World below in one piece from this very reference. So this tree extends to the whole world and tha's how speculation can be drawn to show that the tree in the shadow we see in chapter 865 is infact somehow Yggdrasil if Oda decides to name it that. It supports structures that connects the World together and that's how people can get to and fro the Sky Islands.

Just like the other great trees in One Piece, this could be yet another one which Oda has taken inspiration for from the tree in Eden. The tree of Knowledge, Adam, Eve and now the Tree of Life Yggdrasil.

So a summary of what we have theorized so far:
1. The shadows we see in these chapters are the tree of life
2. The larger tree is The World Tree and draws inspirations from the different names the tree of knowledge is given.
3. The smaller tree could be Giant Jack and could also be a part of The World Tree.

So let me know what you guys think about this in the comments section. I would love some feedback - you can let me know what I can change and what other theories you guys want me to be talking about. Thank you for reading and I'll see you soon with something new.

Theory : Big Mom - A World Government Experiment??

We all know of Big Mom's tendency to go crazy and damage everything around her. Infact in chapter 866 we see her going crazy over Semla. We also see her in the start of the chapter being given some sweets.  She is clearly a 5 year old human as we have been told from chapter 866. But we have seen her mother - she is freakin tiny. What do you guys think?

Here's what I think - Big Mom was a normal sized human. She was born a normal size human to begin with. Those candies we see her eat from her knapsack in chapter 866 could be the type of candies Caesar fed the children in Punk Hazard. This is pure speculation but it's worth thinking about.

Why would Oda introduce Germa 66 who have been associated at some point with the World Government and Vegapunk along with Caesar? It makes sense because then we can figure out what exactly has happened to Big Mom. I have a feeling her parents were part Vegapunk's team as well.

We have established that:
1. Big Mom could be a WG experiment.
2. She was a normal sized human at birth.
3. Her parents could be associated with Vegapunk's research team.
4. Judge Vinsmoke and Caesar could probably know her parents.
5. Oda doesn't introduce people and plot devices unless they are going to have a major impact on the future of the arc.

Now here are the things we know:
1. Big Mom has a person in her crew that can manipulate memories - Pudding
2. Caesar was conducting gigantification experiments on the kidnapped children in Punk Hazard.
3. Judge Vinsmoke was also part of Vegapunk's research team.
4. Vegapunk actually did not succeed in the Gigantification.

Here is what could have happened: (PURE SPECULATION)
LinLin was born to two researchers in Vegapunk's team. Everyone had a celebration for her birth. Caesar at the time was looking into Vegapunk's failed gigantification experiment. He somehow figures a method to push in alot of drugs into the children during their growth phase to acheive the gigantification. He gift's LinLin's parents the candies he developed to experiment on her. LinLin's parents couldn't take the work load and taking care of their overly strong child so they had to quit the research team. So now they move out  but they see LinLin throwing tantrums when she did not get her candies and kept feeding them to her. Caesar was still in contact with her parents and kept supplying the candies. So now what I think is that she had the capacity to handle Caesar's drugs and grew up successfully into a decent sized giant. We know that she did not get her candies after her parents deserted her on the island. But when she was introduced to the semla she goes crazy. It's like a withdrawal effect from the candies the children in Punk Hazard had.

Somehow this all can link together when Caesar realizes she is actually the child and he let's chopper know about it. Chopper develops a cure for her condition and treats her. The Vinsmoke's tell her about her parents and their conditions that led to them deserting her on Elbaf. Big Mom redirects all her anger onto Caesar and he becomes the beat-up toy again. Honestly for whatever he has been doing in Punk Hazard and in his past he deserves worst than this. What goes around comes around.

Big Mom may ally with the Straw Hats to thank them for helping her with her condition. And this could be a major help to the Straw Hats with Kaido. It is so amazing to see the possible outcomes this arc could bring. Oda is an amazing writer.

What do you guys think about this theory? I'd like some feedback and if you see any holes in this theory I'd really like you to point it out.

I'll probably post another theory tomorrow or maybe a chapter review.

One Piece Chapter 866 : Natural Destroyer Review

Cover Story:

Dropping in on the lives of the grand pirate fleet, Vol.3"Cavendish, Prince of the Bourgeois Kingdom is so popular that not a single young woman in the country has married"

This is a continuation from the previous cover story where Cavendish is standing on his ship's deck pondering about his childhood with Suleiman by his side and Farul having a cup of tea. (Farul breaks the hooves rules like chopper)

We see the Cavendish in the balcony of his castle and the people below raising their hands up to him. A woman on the left is in tears whereas a woman on the right has somewhat of a froth coming out of her mouth and she appears to have fainted. A police officer seems to be holding her from falling to the ground.

This shows a good insight as to how Oda-sensei wanted Cavendish to be portrayed in Dressrosa. What got me going was the Bourgeois Kingdom. Bourgeois means the French Middle class. To be precise - of the French Middle Class Kingdom. For a place that seems so rich I wonder why Oda would've tried to put that word into it. I see something coming in the future - Cavendish actually being from a Middle-Class family but pretending to be all rich and stuff. But you never know with Oda and his writing.

Into the chapter:

Last chapter Oda teased us a flashback into Elbaf after Big Mom started thinking about Mother Caramel. This chapter, the first panel shows us a glimpse of Elbaf. The rocky mountains with a ship at the side gives a very Viking-esque feel to this. If you notice the background, there is a large shadow of some kind of tree.

The next panel we see that this ship was actually a ship of a pirate crew(not confirmed yet) which had Big Mom on it. Let me be honest about this - Big Mom looked so cute as a 5-year old. And she is confirmed to be a human by Oda. So all theories about her being a giant go down the drain in an instant. So we see Big Mom's parents standing right there in front of her. They seem to be wanting to leave her on this island from the way her mother says that her father has some work around the place. She seems to have a knapsack containing some candy. They tell her to eat as much as she wants. She gets so happy when she hears that.

Next page we see her mother crying and her father trying to tell hber mother that its the right thing to do since LinLin(Big Mom) caused a bunch of casualties. Oh my! Whatever country they are from seems to have wanted her out of the country. Her father coun tinues with saying that there is some sort of a holy mother who lives on the island that can help LinLin. We see two of the crew mates there as well.  We see Little LinLin enjoying the sights of Elbaf with the huge fish in the sea. It cuts forward to the winter season it seems and LinLin is still waiting for her parents baring the brunt of the cold.

Next page shows us Dorry and Broggy. The narration explains to us that 100 years ago the Giant Warriors that terrorized the world "Giant Soldier Pirate Crew" lost their two captains and that its a legend. After they pirate crew broke up the lingering giants from the crew were caught by the marines and were being brought to trial. At the gallows a beautiful young nun comes up the crowd telling them to stop the execution of the giants as the heavens cry for peace. She was introduced as Sister Caramel. Now this was something totally unexpected. A backstory within a backstory. Oda just knows how to hook us into this.

From the next page we see that the people are against the idea of sparing the giants. But Caramel exclaims that if the giants are killed the Warriors of Elbaf will take up arms again. So the giants fought the world before (or maybe the world government specifically) as an act of revenge. She tells the people to forgive the giants and wants everyone to join hands and smile. Narration then lets us know that after that even Caramel was called Holy Mother and she would take in children who had nowhere to go to, without regard of class or race into the Lamb's House. On this page we see a light shining on Caramel when she tells everyone to forgive the giants. Its kinda inteesting but at this point we all know what it it (SPOILER:She used the Soul Soul Fruit to control the Clouds and Light). We also see 4 children which includes a fish man and a child from the long leg tribe.

The next page cuts forward into the future of the backstory where you see Caramel grown old (80 years). She is with the children of the lamb's house. The children seem to be really interesting. We see Caramel welcoming LinLin to the Lamb's house. The children on the other hand know that they were discarded by their families because they were no good and seem to be telling LinLin about it as well.

Next page we see the children freaking out about LinLin's size. We get a narration of the children's background. Then we see a few giant children as well. We see LinLin enjoying the sight of the giants who are larger than her since she has lived her whole life seeing things smaller than her.

Next page we cut somewhere into the future where LinLin has smacked a bear and lies fallen, apparently dead. She killed a bear by spanking it. OMG!!! I get the chapter's name from this. She hit the bear only once and it died. Just can't seem to get over this.

Mother Caramel seems to be quiet supportive of LinLin even though she has such destructive potential. We have the children freaking out over her killing the bear. They also freak out about her breaking some guy's bones when she was trying to help get rid of a mosquito. She doesn't seem to know the different races in the world and see's them as abnormal people and tries to help them by "fixing" them. She seems like an innocent kid so far. An innocent kid with alot of strength. Caramel just goes around telling everyone to forgive LinLin. She is so cute though.

Isn't that Oimo and Kashi from Ennie's Lobbie?! Yes it is!! A nice call-back to him. We see LinLin playing(terrorizing) with the children. So apparently the giants go on some kind of a fast during the winter. So prior to the fast they have a celebration where they make delicious sweet dish called - Semla. Its a bread that is hollowed out and contains marzipan with cream in it.

We get a call-back to Hajrudin who we seen in Dressrosa. He seems to be training very hard. We see really old giants with long beards. They are both about 345 years old. They were the former captains of the Giant Pirate Crew. They are adored by all of Elbaf's people. Even Hajrudin seems to really respect them.

On the day of the celebration of the festival, we see LinLin stuffing her face with alot of Semla. The giants seem to have to hold her down to control her and stop her from eating more. We also see those swirly eye pattern when she gets her hunger pangs.

LinLin seems to not be able to control herself she keeps asking for food and semla and then something happens on the sixth day of the fast. LinLin takes down the entire giant village. A 5 year old taking down the entire village of Giants. Yeah let that sink in. Caramel arrives on the scene to see the destruction caused by Big Mom. The older Giant goes to take her down because he considers her to be a demon. Aaaaaaand...... chapter ends with that creepy looking demonic expression on Big Mom's face.

This chapter was really cool. The things that caught me off-guard was that LinLin was always a human to begin with. I bet the candies in her bag have got something to do with her size. Also what was the whole deal with Caramel splitting the skies and stuff. It has got be a devil fruit ability. Anyways look forward to a theory about Big Mom's size.
